Woodstock Festival is a 3-day pop rock concert. The festival became the most popular music event in history and the symbol of the hip-hop movement in the 1960s.

Initially, the festival was organized by 4 men. The original idea was to create a concert to raise money to build a recording studio for young musicians in Woodstock, New York.

At first, the organization had many difficulties. Almost everyone did not want to see any hippie or drug addicts participating in the concert at their original location, Woodstock, so the selection of the venue did not go as planned initially. A difficult task for the organizers is that about 2 months before the concert is performed, the venue must be found.

Fortunately, the organizers found a 600-acre dairy farm in Bethel, New York – where they could hold the show. Because of changing locations, all preparations were not completed on time.

The organizers expect about 50,000 people to attend the concert but when the concert day comes closer, the organizers will know that the number of participants in the event will exceed the 50,000 expected number. A few days before the concert took place, hundreds of thousands of pop rock fans from all over the world were on their way to Woodstock. On the day of the performance, the organizers were unable to control the crowd and fans rushed into the performance area. An estimated 300,000 to 500,000 people were present at the concert.

This event caused a huge traffic jam. Thousands of people have left their vehicles on the road to walk to the performance area.

On Friday, August 15, 1969, the show was officially started. Joan Baez, Arlo Guthrie and other folk artists performed on the first day. On Saturday, Santana, Janis Joplin, band The Who and other bands starred on the stage.

Most people start leaving on Sunday. Jimi Hendrix was the last artist to perform on stage, when there were only about 25,000 spectators left.

A rain turned the performance area into a big puddle of mud. However, the Woodstock music festival was still successful despite the organizers facing a debt of more than a million dollars later.
