On Friday (Oct. 25) in Las Vegas a Lady Gaga impersonator was mistaken at a charity event for the real thing.

When attendees of a national conference for Women of Global Change which held at The Strat Hotel and Casino saw the pop superstar stroll onto the stage in a matching wide-brim hat and pink pantsuit, they were shocked. Then she sat at a grand piano and performed some of her biggest hits, including “Million Reasons.” and “You and I”

But they were actually watching a Lady Gaga impersonator Tierney Allen who performs regularly in Legends in Concert, a tribute review at The Tropicana which also features Pat Benatar and Freddie Mercury lookalike/soundalikes.

Allen says to The Hollywood Reporter that she had no intention of misleading the audience to think she was really Gaga. Allen says that what happened is she was booked to perform for Women of Global Change at a private event. They always tell the guests to make sure the clients know she is not the real thing.

At the end of her performance, the confusion began when Aurea McGarry the event emcee, told the crowd that Allen was in fact the real thing and was not an impersonator.

Allen recalls that she thought that’s not good. She immediately started sweating. She must have looked like a deer in the headlights.

While visiting the Park MGM Allen was once swarmed by fans before in full Gaga regalia. The “Poker Face” singer was performing there  and she has been mistaken for the artist. She decided to just “go with it” til she could get off the stage.

Allen says she thought McGarry wanted to give the audience a thrill and got swept up in the moment though she assumed the emcee knew that she was a fake very well.
